How Honest Is Our Covid Fatality Count? Take Minnesota As a Disturbing Example
Powerline Blog ^ | 04/08/2020 | John Hinderaker

Dr. Scott Jensen is both a physician and a Minnesota state senator. Yesterday he was interviewed by a local television station and dropped a bombshell: he, and presumably all other Minnesota doctors, got a seven-page letter from the Minnesota Department of Health that gave guidance on how to classify COVID-19 deaths. The letter said that if a patient died of, e.g., pneumonia, and was believed to have been exposed to COVID-19, the death certificate should say that COVID-19 was the cause of death even though the patient was never tested, or never tested positive, for that disease.

Dr. Jensen found this to be irregular and contrary to the usual practice for filling out death certificates. It seems intended to inflate the number of Wuhan flu deaths; it is hard to see any other potential purpose. The most entertaining thing about the exchange is the shock expressed by the interviewer. Here is the video:

Anything to keep pushing to get to the body count required by the “scientists” and their charts.

Chasing the federal dollar. In Italy until recently anyone who died in a hospital that also had CCPVirus patients was classified as a Virus Death.

There’s an awful lot of conjecture in that interview. It’s something to monitor, and follow up on, but no telling what he was actually told based on that interview.

Basically, the news here is that there may be news tomorrow.

Minn., with ~1/2 of the population of Michigan, is running 4 deaths/day while Mich. is >100.

If you get hit by a car and die on the way to the hospital where you are to be tested for coronavirus, yep - its Covid-19

". . . it is hard to see any other potential purpose."

The author doesn't think much like a bureaucrat.

At some point somewhere down the road, money will be allocated based on the number of COVID-19 cases in an area or city.

That's the "other potential purpose".

And the Minnesota governor this afternoon extended the state shutdown to May 4. It was set to end on April 10, the day after tomorrow.

He said that Minnesota is "having more success than any other state in flattening the curve" and they can't let up now, and yada, yada.

He is allowing some industries to go back to work, such as landscapers, and there is some pushback from at least one state lawmaker who said she is "not staying home"

He said new projections could be published later in the week.

I heard Dan Bongino quote an estimate from last week sometime late in the week that said by Sunday, there would be be 165K cases of COVID-19 admitted to hospitals nationwide, and when Sunday came, there were only something like 22K.

I haven’t verified that and it is possible that I misheard it so I listened a couple times to be sure, but...that is quite a disparity.

Not 5% or even 30%. What is that, a miss by 87%????

Models are fine for some purposes like calculating the yield of a nuclear weapon, but in a politically charged and deceitful environment such as we have, where there are so many factors that can be fed into a model, and many of those factors are guesses.

It isn’t surprising that there are entities out there who are disappointed those models didn’t hit their targets.

It is quite unprecedented.

Welcome to the world of Climate Change modelling as just another example. Is it any wonder why they keep telling us environmental armageddon is just 12 years away?

Worldwide deaths to date this year by a variety of causes from communicable disease 3,517,045... to the seasonable flu 131,749... to suicides 290,529 far outpace this virus... Are we ruining our economies over these deaths?. The answer is no.

Should we be ruining our economy over these corona deaths? The answer once again is no.

In the grand scheme of world wide deaths, mosquito bites will kill more people his year than the corona flu...

Hysteria is a dangerous disease currently is being experienced by a great many world leaders and the media... Sadly, we will pay a very large price for this malady in economic turmoil and, the deaths caused by this turmoil will likely be higher than corona death numbers.

They are inflating the death count because
George Soros’s Open Society
the John Birch Society
the Seek and Find cult
the Blue Oyster Cult
the Branch Davidians
the Masonic Temple
the Order of the Solar Temple
and all the Democrats have joined forces to change all the death certificates for car accident victims and those swept out to sea in a tornado to say it was REALLY caused by a stupid VIRUS. And do you know how small a virus is? It’s like one nanometer across! it can’t kill people.. really folks what are we so worried about?
Date - Deaths in NYC
4-1 278
4-2 188
4-3 305
4-4 387
4-5 218
4-6 266
4-7 806
4-8 716
average deaths in NYC is 158 per day.

I went to Bongino's website, and here is that article he referenced (Discussing the major model being used, I believe):

Tracking site suggests White House model is overestimating coronavirus hospitalizations

"...The forecast predicted, for example, that the United States would need around 164,750 hospital beds for COVID-19 patients on Saturday. Yet the COVID Tracking Project, a team of journalists and data analysts who collect and tabulate coronavirus data from state tallies around the country, reported only around 22,158 currently hospitalized coronavirus patients nationwide on Saturday..."

One thing I try to keep in mind is that the Administration has to plan for a severe event and hope it turns out rosy, rather than planning for a rosy event and having it turn out severely.

Maryland’s “projected death count” dropped to well over half of yesterday’s count, overnight.

Peak deaths per day is halved, as well.
